The MA thesis maps the most significant production, distribution and financing models in the context of experimental publishing and questions their application to the academic sphere of university presses. Analysed projects reveal that an alternative mode of operating derives not only from the will to research new fields, but also from technical necessities such as economic and bureaucratic limitations. The aim of the thesis is to propose a feasible editorial model for ISIA Urbino shaped on the characteristics that identify the school and that can facilitate or limit its implementation.
